Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing
Otsego County has partnered with Energize NY, a not-for-profit local development corporation, to provide Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing. Energize NY PACE is a low-cost, long-term alternative to traditional loans to fund clean energy projects in commercially-owned buildings, including buildings owned by not-for-profits. Property owners in the Otsego County can use Energize NY PACE to finance upgrades that will reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint and improve the comfort of their buildings.

Community Events Grant
Otsego County is pleased to announce that the application period for the 2019 Community Grant Funds has opened. The Community Grants Program is designed to support local events which attract visitors to Otsego County by helping organizers to fund artistic, professional, and advertising costs. The maximum grant amount to be awarded to any one organization/event is $4,000. Members of the Otsego County Intergovernmental Affairs Committee (IGA) will make recommendations to award grants based on specific criteria. Organizations may request funding for only one event per year. Complete details and an online application are available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6BTQ2XQ. Applications will be accepted through the online link until Midnight, February 28, 2019.

Otsego County Shared Services Plan
Governor Cuomo’s County-Wide Shared Services Initiative (CWSSI) generates property tax savings by enabling collaboration between local governments across the state. The CWSSI expands on Governor Cuomo’s ongoing commitment to reduce property taxes and modernize local government services by fostering new shared services and enhancing the existing collaborations already in place.

Otsego County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update - Citizen Survey
Otsego County and its municipalities have started the process of updating our Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP identifies key actions to be taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from natural disasters and allows for continued eligibility for pre- and post-disaster grant programs to help fund these actions. We are seeking your participation in this important planning effort.

Hours of Operation
The hours of operation for the following Otsego County buildings and the offices housed therein, including the County Treasurer, County Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Representatives are changed to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exception of the months of July and August when the hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. effective January 23, 2017, pursuant to Resolution 35-20170104 adopted by the Otsego County Board of Representatives at their meeting held on January 4, 2017:
- County Office Building, 197 Main Street, Cooperstown NY (including the Courthouse and the Personnel Office)
- Meadows Building, 140 County Highway 33W, Cooperstown, NY
- Oneonta Office Building, 242 Main Street, Oneonta, NY
All other hours of operation shall remain as previously set.
Onondaga County and Otsego County Announce Purchasing Partnership
Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Otsego County Board of Representatives Chair Kathleen Clark announce an historic agreement between the two counties. Beginning today, Onondaga County will provide purchasing services for Otsego County. This agreement enables Onondaga County's Purchasing Department to generate new revenue at no additional cost to taxpayers, while providing world class procurement services to Otsego County at a significantly reduced cost. The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income people pay the cost of heating their homes.
If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off.
