Hours of Operation
The hours of operation for the following Otsego County buildings and the offices housed therein, including the County Treasurer, County Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Representatives are changed to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exception of the months of July and August when the hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. effective January 23, 2017, pursuant to Resolution 35-20170104 adopted by the Otsego County Board of Representatives at their meeting held on January 4, 2017:
- County Office Building, 197 Main Street, Cooperstown NY (including the Courthouse and the Personnel Office)
- Meadows Building, 140 County Highway 33W, Cooperstown, NY
- Oneonta Office Building, 242 Main Street, Oneonta, NY
All other hours of operation shall remain as previously set.
Agricultural District's #3 and #8 - Eight Year Review
Otsego County is currently processing the eight year review for Agricultural District #3 and District #8. The review is required under NYS Agricultural Districts Law Section 303-a. The review will help determine the status of agriculture in the district, including, but not limited to: acreage calculations of farmland, consistency of local laws supporting the district, and if objectives of the district have been met. Agricultural District No. 3 is composed of the Towns of Cherry Valley, Middlefield, Otsego, Springfield, and the Village of Cooperstown and containes 64,423 acres. Agricultural District No 8 is composed of the Towns of Morris, Butternuts, Unadilla, Otego and the villages within the towns and consist of approximately 35,453 acres. The 30 Day public review period began April 6, 2017. curing this 30 day review period any municipality whose territory encompasses the above agricultural district, any stae agency or any landowner within or adjacent to the district may propose a modification of the districts. Parcels may only be removed from the district during the eight year period.

Onondaga County and Otsego County Announce Purchasing Partnership
Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Otsego County Board of Representatives Chair Kathleen Clark announce an historic agreement between the two counties. Beginning today, Onondaga County will provide purchasing services for Otsego County. This agreement enables Onondaga County's Purchasing Department to generate new revenue at no additional cost to taxpayers, while providing world class procurement services to Otsego County at a significantly reduced cost. The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income people pay the cost of heating their homes.
If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off.
