Philosophical Statement

Chemical addiction is a primary illness of a chronic nature that, if unchecked, is fatal in its consequences.  The emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological components of the whole person deteriorate progressively.  The impact of this decline assails not only t he chemically dependent person, but the significant others as well.  Spiraling dysfunctions can be addressed by intervention that enhances awareness and encourages change.  Through such modalities as counseling, self-help groups, and personal commitment, on-going recovery is nurtured through abstinence, individual growth, and development of healthy coping skills.
