GIS PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
Otsego County has eliminated the position of GIS Coordinator frOm the 2010 county budget due to financial constraints. Duties from this former position have, to a large extent, been forwarded to the County Planning Department effective January 2010.
This office has been working on establishing the procedures for receiving data and map requests, prioritizing data and map requests, etc.
GIS DATA REQUESTS
Please see the list available layers and the products and pricing list below. Please fill out the data request form and submit it to the Planning Department via email, fax or regular mail.
We want to be sure to provide to customers the most appropriate versions/vintages of Otsego County’s data. While we work out issues regarding data versions, there will be some delay in fulfilling requests.
MAP REQUESTS
This office has excellent pre-existing capabilities to provide some GIS mapping services. However, it is presently undetermined which of the services provided by the former GIS Coordinator will/can be provided by staff in this office.
For the reasons above, this office is placing a moratorium on work requests that are determined to be outside the scope of the GIS activities this office is accustomed to provide. Please call this office to discuss the status of this moratorium relative to the GIS work you request from Otsego County. Ask to speak to Psalm Wyckoff, Planner, or Terry Bliss, Planning Director.
