Board Of Ethics
The Otsego County Board of Representatives has established an Ethics and Disclosure Law in compliance with NYS General Municipal Law Article 18. The citizenry of Otsego County is entitled to the expectation of exemplary ethical behavior from their county officers, employees, and appointed officials, and the law is intended to create the minimum standards which constitute that behavior. This legislation recognizes that varying degrees of professional and governmental responsibility warrant equitable requirements of disclosure in pursuit of official integrity which must be balanced against individual constitutional rights.
The Otsego County Board of Ethics reviews requests for advisory opinions and complaints alleging violations of the County Ethics Law. Available on this website, please see the rules and regulations of the Board and forms for requesting an advisory opinion or filing a complaint.
