The County Auditor's Office audits all the bills paid by Otsego County. All bills must be itemized and submitted to the County Auditor on a preprinted county claim form. The bills are then reviewed for accuracy, for required approvals, for duplication and for determination if the purchase is a valid county expense. It takes approximately three to four weeks for bills to go through the county's payment system.
The County Auditor also oversees the central mailing system for the county, the central telephone system for the county and the inventory of fixed assets.
