Here in Otsego County we make every effort to reduce the amount of waste going into the waste stream by offering different
recycling programs for various items. Please click on the links below for more information on each program offered.

PLEASE NOTE: All recyclables should be empty, rinsed clean and dry. Items of different materials like children’s toys, dehumidifiers,
humidifiers, coffee pots, most appliances (metal and plastics) should be disassembled whenever possible, and only if it can be done
safely, so that like materials can be sorted during the recycling process.

Disposal of Fluorescent Bulbs
There will be a $25.00 charge for any mattress or boxspring ($50.00 for a pair) at the Southern Transfer Station in Oneonta. Mattresses are no longer accepted at the Northern Transfer Station in Cooperstown.

Effective November 1, 2019 there will be a fee for certain electronics brought to the Oneonta Transfer Station.
Fees will include: $12/Unit for Televisions, Monitors and Commercial Grade Electronics (large floor standing printers,fax machines, etc.)
All other acceptable eletronics will remain free of charge for residents of Otsego County
